Now who would've thought?

Johnny Depp as the Mad Hatter, in the upcoming Alice in Wonderland directed by Tim Burton, alongside Alan Rickman (think Prof. Snape) and Helena Bonham Carter (think versatile).

I can't wait.

I'm having a Coldplay moment right now.

OMG I'VE JUST BEEN INFORMED THAT THE CONCERT I WAS SUPPOSED TO EMCEE FOR IS ACTUALLY NEXT WEEK, NOT THE TWENTY-SECOND. OMFG. WTF HAPPENED? I ONLY HAVE A WEEK TO BLOODY HELL PREPARE!!

fitch.

Kristin Kreuk as Chun Li from Street Fighters? What's up with the world nowadays?

Sai Mun's gone over to Adelaide. It's easier now that he's gone. In fact, I can breathe better now. No more puffy eyes in the morning. :)

Went for my second yoga class. We managed to do the halasana, which looks exactly like this.

My nose touched my knees! Ha! Beat that!

But of course, we had to lay motionlessfor about 20 secs after that because I couldn't feel my spine and the small of my back anymore. Imagine your whole weight resting on just the small area between your shoulderblades and your neck. And I couldn't breathe the whole time, just little shallow gulps.

It's not easy okay.

Am studying for the Msian Studies test tomorrow. Sigh. FMS, EIC, plural society...

ESL generic essay writing topics are as dull as I had feared.

1. ways to eradicate poverty.

2. do online games bring any benefit?

I had no idea how to eradicate poverty so whaddahell, online games it was. -.-

I learned a new word today. Anachronistic. Means out of date or old-fashioned. :)

Study study dah-dee-dum.

I don't wanna cycle or recycle revenge; I don't wanna follow Death and all of his friends.

Death And All His Friends - Coldplay

I'm getting contact lens soon! Now I would be able to see what I really look like instead of squinting all the time.

Bro's having his major exam on Tuesday, the exam that would determine if he would become a doctor or not. That means there is a huge possibility I cannot watch the rerun of the Oscars tomorrow night. :( Hugh Jackman! *bawls*

Here's my schedule for next week:

Monday - zil. Maybe Oscars. Maybe a Pokemon movie with Sai Mun.
Tuesday - Bio common test I
Wednesday - Maths common test I, high chance of Sai Mun leaving for Adelaide today.
Thursday - ESL common test I
Friday - Malaysian Studies common test I

I hear that there is no descriptive writing or narrative essay for the generic writing section in ESL! :( Just factual stuff and argumentative essays. What??

Looking forward to Maths, though. Differentiation! *clap clap*

I will conquer Bio.

On Saturday I would be teaching one of my mom's form 1 classes because one of her teachers would be absent. How do you teach 13 year old chinese-speaking students who only know "Thank you" and "Excuse me" English? :-O Gotta make sure I don't feel as if I'm speaking to a wall.

It's raining!

Mmm differential calculus.

One harrowing week over!

The beginning of another one. Common tests next week. Common tests are exams where we combine classes by folding the sliding walls that separate the classrooms from each other. :) Cool eh? Or maybe we'll be doing them in the multipurpose hall (misleadingly referred to as MPH), which I hear is about ten degrees Celsius lower than the outside. Maybe I'll get to join with Rui Sheng's class. That'll be fun.

This week was a week of deadlines and class tests. Two class tests, two presentations, one deadline. So far, I've scored highest for two out of four tests(Bio and Psych). :) I missed the high score for Chemistry by one mark. One. You can't call me kiasu.

Lately I've been feeling pretty depressed. No prize for guessing why. sai mun's leaving in six days, for six years, and I still gotta study for my common test next week, which is a relatively big part of my internal assessment marks. Bummer.

I realised my classmates aren't very big fans of calculus (specifically, differentiation). I don't get it; I like differentiation.

Running low on pocket money. Must be the awfully expensive food around Subang Jaya. Am trying to sustain a bready-lunch diet.

Went for choir practice yesterday. We've a great bass (who studies under Mr. Ian Lim) and a string of good tenors. Altos, gambate. Sopranos, gambate to you too. Met a girl from Klang Convent, who was under Mr. Lee Shiak Yao. We've a great choir master, too. :) Sang the Sound of Music. Got to sing the solo! :D Haven't been singing solos in ages.

Hey, have you watched the Lion King musical? Nevermind I forgive you. watch!

I love the rams, and Rafiki, and the cheetahs. <3 And I love the background singing during the chorus!

Wonder how they did the giraffes. Best props I've seen in a musical so far.

Off to do more calculus. Mmm.

And in the end we lie awake and dream of our escape.

Harrowing week, but this signifies the start of an endless stream of harrowing weeks. Mami ahh...

Chemistry test was good. I died in the Math test.

We tried out a variety of food outlets throughout the week, so no surprise that we ended up broke by the fifth day and had to go to the market for food. They have this really good zap fan stall that cook a zillion dishes and still charge you really cheaply. One plate of zap fan with enormous helpings of lala and a bowl of iced lin chi kang costs only about RM3.80. Dirt cheap right? So it's worth the loooong walk there.

Oh, did I mention that 3/4 of my class dislikes/hates/am terrified of cats? Even the small kitties can induce a healthy screech from one of my louder classmates. :) The stray kittens are so cute that they play with your bag straps and treat your favorite pants as their scratching posts.

Today our class gave Mrs Adeline (chemistry and our mentor) and Ms Audrey (our diva-ish psych lecturer) a rose each. :) Which means I owe Ben money. I owe Sarah money, too. =( Aaah the woes of being treasurer.

We watched the Dark Knight for Psych. :o) The day before, when our class ended early, we got a healthy dose of Whose Line Is It Anyway. :o)

We went back to school today, =) which was awesome, cos' it's refreshing to see the earnest and enthusiasm in those youngsters (youngsters? I'm only one year their senior!) as they prepare for Sports Day. Yes, I went to see the Unggul kids. Sweet reunion! :D

Sai Mun's got an offer of acceptance into the University of Adelaide. Congrats sweetheart!

You asked me if you should stick to Monash-U (which you have already paid for) or go for gold. I smiled and told you that it's your future and it's your decision.

Here's the ugly truth, honey. Selfish as this might sound, I don't want you to go to Adelaide. I sat there in the lobby while you went to enquire about the refund and I cried just thinking about the possibilities of not seeing you regularly for six years.

But as I said, it's your future. Don't let me be a factor in your hopes and dreams. :)

I feel like a reluctant matyr. What a bad start to Valentine's. :(

All I am looking forward to is a nice long Thaipusam weekend with RA Salvatore in my left hand and a cup of steaming hot milo in the other. Or a good long day in Borders on the carpeted floor with a book in my hands.

Unfortunately, things are not always how you want them to be. Class Test 1 next week. Boo hoo.

Am in the Web again, sitting in a defective chair (most of the chairs in the web are), started out researching genetic engineering ethics but ended up googling Christian Bale pictures.

Have you heard his rant? It was filled with more explicit words than I would say in a year.

Am reading Stephen King's "The Running Man". Kor's fault.

Thanks rui for the mp3 player, but sadly things aren't going the way I want them to. Long story short, the mp3 player isn't doing what it is created to do--play music.

Necessity is the mother of invention.

An interesting thing happened on Wednesday. I was extremely surprised to find that almost everyone in my class opposed to the Charles Darwin's theory of evolution--that we originate from primates. It seems that the majority of my class are stubbornly holding onto the belief that we descended from Adam and Eve. Mmm, interesting, eh?

Oh, for the record, I hold no doubt that Darwin was right. He's a genius.

Will be doing my ESL research on cloning instead of euthanasia. Cloning is a really cool topic, kinda controversial, too.

Ah, the sun is shining. Off I go.

The Perils of Obedience

Am in the Web. Nothing much's up except that next week's CT1 and I am doomed. However, I did pretty well for my recent Bio Quiz. :) 30/30, so the elation would prolly last well into the night, then the torturous cycle of worry and frantic studying would begin again.

Ms. Audrey, our psych lecturer, told us a very interesting piece of history today. It's too long to be written here, so I'll just post the link. It's an experiment by A famed psychologist named Stanley Milgram who tested to see just how far you will go to inflict harm on a person you don't know. Think that you're so civilised? Think again. x) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Milgram_experiment

Anyhoo, off to shop for groceries, and then maybe after an hour of studying, accompany my brother to watch E.T., which he claims, is one helluva great movie.

Oh, and here's the AFI's list of top movie quotes of the century. Strangely enough I don't recognise most of them. "I'll be back" is only at 37th. =( "My preciousssss" is at 85. =(=( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/AFI%27s_100_Years..._100_Movie_Quotes
