Land of the Leaping Roos

There is something sexy about a rugged man with a cowboy hat holding a whip on a horse.

In a Baz Luhrmann movie, such a flamboyantly, stereotype character can never go wrong.

You might remember Baz Luhrmann's masterpiece "Moulin Rouge!" that won quite a number of Oscars including the ever prestigious Best Picture Award.
And, like Moulin Rouge!, this movie gives the MTV feel that makes you wanna dance along, minus the singing and feathers and dancing.

AND, like Moulin Rouge!, Australia stars the timeless Nicole Kidman and the versatile David Wenham.

AND, like Moulin Rouge!, this is a unbashful tale of romance and comedy, or shall I say, comedy and romance. Surprisingly, Baz Luhrmann manages to pull off this cliched theme, along with many other themes (which I thought was a bit redundant).

It's the perfect film for the helplessly romantic. Simone and I watched it because we fell in love with Moulin Rouge! and we exchanged glances each time we saw a similarity to Luhrmann's debut film.

I still can't decide which on-screen couple is better, Hugh Jackman & Nicole or Ewan McGregor & Nicole.

Oh, and Jackman. Is. Hot.
Happy New Year everyone :)
